In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Density 2036 project, The Pnea Foundation is pleased to announce the new Density Fellows program. The Density Fellows are a group of ten emerging flutists selected each year by the Pnea Foundation Board of Directors, with artistic direction by Claire Chase. The Fellows will advance the nascent repertory of the Density 2036 project by selecting one work from the Density catalog to study and perform in the 2023-24 season with the support and mentorship of Chase and the Density composers. Fellows will receive coachings with Chase and will have an opportunity to converse with the composers throughout the fellowship period (May 2023-December 2023). Additionally, a stipend will be given to each Fellow to support performance or recording expenses in the 2023-24 season.
